While on their journey, something had attacked them, which caused them to evacuate and resurface. Years later, another expedition was done and the same events took place again. Instead of resurfacing, the group was stuck at the bottom of the ocean; they were injured and losing oxygen. The team was rescued but the prehistoric shark was exposed to the world, leading to numerous deaths and injuries. The Meg is a captivating movie for those who love jumpscares because there is quite a few throughout the movie.
